In 2011, newlyweds José Carlos Cornejo and Pilar Esparza started an exciting new chapter, moving from Aguascalientes, Mexico, to Oklahoma. With lots of experience in hospitality, they decided to follow their dreams and start their own business. José, inspired by his mother’s cooking, and Pilar, a third-generation restaurant owner from Calvillo, Aguascalientes, combined their skills and love for serving others. In June 2022, they launched Taco Empire the Foodtruck, offering a simple menu specializing in tacos with blue corn tortillas. The community’s enthusiastic support quickly made Taco Empire a favorite spot for taco lovers. By November 2023, they proudly opened their first brick-and-mortar location. Today, José and Pilar are working hard on expanding their tasty empire across Oklahoma. Thank you to all our clients and supporters for being a part of our journey. Stoped into their new brick and mortar location yesterday afternoon for lunch. Started off with the chips & queso as an appetizer which was very good! The birria tacos were very good as well as the tamales! Definitely a good little spot to try in the area. Service was pretty good it's not really table service as you order at the front counter but they will do bring the food to your table. Overall a good experience.
You need to try Taco Empire ASAP! Their food is delicious! You cannot go wrong here-everything is so good! I recommend their quesabirrias and the elote corn if you're wondering what to try first. So much flavor,always fresh and high quality! A regular taco is also yummy!
The food was delicious, they have added more food from what they normally had on the food truck. Everything I've tried has been amazing. Definitely get you a mexican coke and Papas!
