In 2011, the owners/husband and wife, Carlos and Pilar moved to Oklahoma from Aguascalientes, Mexico. The high school sweethearts married that same year and now have 2 sons (age 6 and 12). Pilar is a 3rd generation restaurant owner. Carlos inherited his mom's talent in the kitchen and they now use some of the recipes shared by his mother. Just as both of their families have always done, Pilar and Carlos strive to offer the highest quality ingredients in their family-favorite recipes. Recipes, found ONLY at Taco Empire.
Taco Empire started as a food truck in 2022 and quickly gained popularity for their delicious, unique dishes. With that success, came their 1st brick and mortar at 122nd and Rockwell in late 2023. The family is so grateful for their incredible customers in OKC and love spreading joy through the food that means so much to them. Thank you all for the support!
Stoped into their new brick and mortar location yesterday afternoon for lunch. Started off with the chips & queso as an appetizer which was very good! The birria tacos were very good as well as the tamales! Definitely a good little spot to try in the area. Service was pretty good it's not really table service as you order at the front counter but they will do bring the food to your table. Overall a good experience.
You need to try Taco Empire ASAP! Their food is delicious! You cannot go wrong here-everything is so good! I recommend their quesabirrias and the elote corn if you're wondering what to try first. So much flavor,always fresh and high quality! A regular taco is also yummy!
The food was delicious, they have added more food from what they normally had on the food truck. Everything I've tried has been amazing. Definitely get you a mexican coke and Papas!
Amazing food, tons of flavor. Very helpful on answering questions about the menu. The potatoes are spicy, but delicious. Highly recommend!
